The art of bandhani involves skilled artistic labour, mental calculations and natural dyes. This art is mainly practiced in the Northwestern part of the country mainly in Gujarat and Rajasthan. The word Bandhani is derived from a Sanskrit term “bandhan” meaning to tie. The cloth is dipped in multiple colour dyes and beautiful patterns are created. This age-old art of dying dates back nearly 4000 years and is said to be one of the most versatile and trending patterns till date.
